I would like to give you a matted and framed print of Red-crowned Japanese Cranes as a wedding gift. I took a series of pictures of these birds during a memorable visit to Hokkaido in February this year.
For the Japanese people, Red-crowned Cranes are sacred birds. They mate for life and always return to the same breeding ground. Red-crowned Cranes are revered as a symbol of fidelity and faithfulness. Images of these birds are often embroidered on wedding kimonos. Since I am presuming Erin will be in hiking boots rather than a kimono, I though a print might suffice.
Please take a look at my favorite shots in the carousel below and let me know which one you would like. I can print at 8 x10, 13 x 19 or 17 x 22. I will send you the print in early August.
With my best wishes for a long and happy marriage!
